A fire that destroyed her home and a heart attack 10 days later hasn’t crippled the spirits of legendary Atlanta drag queen Lily White, who is speaking out to her gay supporters rallying on Thursday to support her.
Early Thursday, White posted this message on Facebook:
I can’t express how touched my spirits are at this moment,…Not in my wildest dreams would I expect so many of my friemds would ever come together and try to help my mother and I get our lives back together!…I would love to be in Atlanta to stand with my best friend, Charlie Brown, and tell our community how this has affected me and everyone I know!…When it comes to friendship,…I never knew how blessed I was,…If any of you ever need me for anything in the future,…please, just ask! My mother, Ms. Ella, always loved her drag-babies,…she’s looking forward to seeing a vid of this show!…Thank you all from the bottom of my heart!…love you all, Aunt lil
A fire destroyed White’s North Georgia home in February. On March 12, she suffered a heart attack. A “drag show of all drag shows” to benefit White is set for Thursday at Jungle.
