LGBT Augusta parades its powerful Pride

As if you need another sign that the LGBT movement is moving ever forward, gay Georgia’s own Augusta and the smiling faces of its ever-expanding Pride festival and parade deliver.

Partiers hit the Augusta Common on Friday for a dance party, then they hit historic Broad Street on Saturday for the parade on the way back to the Common for the festival. Entries in the parade represented the gamut of gay life in the city, from signs celebrating legal marriage equality in Georgia to social organizations, churches to bars and beyond.

With summer rains at the tail end of the celebrations, Augusta Pride organizers shared a literal rainbow of thanks for an estimated 10,000 festival goers and supporters.
