Leather hunks party with a purpose at Harness

How about this for a party with purpose: A St. Patrick's Day holiday mixed with hunks in leather and the kickoff of an effort to raise tens of thousands for charity. That's what unfolded at Jungle late Sunday.

It marked the first Harness of 2014, bringing together DJ David Knapp with the crew of Ready 4 Hope for the Leprechauns & Leather Party. Jungle unbuckled Harness last July to show off its intimate behind-the-stage lounge as the place for a T-dance with a leather feel. Ready 4 Hope kicked off last August as a group of friends hoping to raise big bucks for AIDS Walk Atlanta through a big weekend of events.

And Ready 4 Hope did just that last year. The effort raised nearly $33,000 for AIDS Walk, leading to Mike Woodside, one of R4H's founders, being named the Walk's top individual fundraiser. Sunday's event at Harness marked the start of their second fundraising campaign complete with leather-clad hunks and more than a few nods to the Irish holiday.

Up next for R4H? Their 2nd Annual Patio Bear-B-Q on April 26.
