Better leave the bling at home when you hit this LA Fitness. But bolt cutter carrying thief aside, why was this gay Atlanta couple stuffing thousands in jewelry into a gym locker anyway?
Tony Howard and Wayne Freeman are second-guessing that decision after a thief cleaned out their locker at the Buford Drive LA Fitness in Gwinnett County. Taken in the heist? The couple says $9,000 in personal items and jewelry, including a diamond encrusted wedding ring that cost $3,700. Each man got one when they married in Washington, D.C. three years ago.
“Everything had a milestone in the history of our marriage,” Freeman tells WSB.
The couple told police that someone cut their lock to hit the jewelry jackpot. Police told the gay men that thieves struck in the locker room and cars parked outside up to 40 times in recent weeks.
LA Fitness didn't speak to WSB about the crime spree.
The lesson here? Other than don't stuff expensive jewelry into your locker, it's that you don't hit gyms Outside the Perimeter. Otherwise, guys don't jack off on your leg, you won't see Rodiney Santiago shirtless and Joe Manganiello definitely won't pump iron with you.
