Ah, youth. So much hope, so much idealism, so much… drag. At least, that’s the way Kennesaw State University Pride Alliance showed the spirit Saturday at its annual off-campus fundraiser at Jungle.
Always doing good in its own neighborhood—like last month’s on-campus KSU Pride Show (view photos)—the gang swept into Midtown for another round of drag and dollars.
Of course, the drag was for a wildly enthusiastic crowd (top photo). The dollars went to Pets Are Loving Support, the local organization that helps critically ill people keep and care for their pets.
KSU students packed the audience to see classmates dressed in their fiercest drag performing to hit tunes. Youth advocate, “RuPaul’s Drag Race” alum and gadabout Nicole Paige Brooks (second photo) emceed to singled out audience members and raffled off prizes to lucky winners.
The school’s recently opened GLBTIQ Student Retention Services resource center is working with the KSU Pride Alliance on the upcoming 2011 LGBT Student Summit, which takes place at the school on April 9. The conference includes high school and college students, faculty and staff, and gay groups.
