Friday saw another successful opening for the gay-owned contemporary Midtown gallery, Kai Lin Art. “Earth: natural organic beauty” featured interpretations of nature by artists Brett Osborn and James P. Garrett.
The landscape works of Osborn, a dean and professor at Atlanta’s branch of the Savannah College of Art & Design, and Garrett, a London-born Venetian plaster artist, provided the backdrop on cocktails and conversation for an eclectic group of art lovers.
No cover charge and a cash bar made "Earth" just the latest gay soiree in a long line of Kai Lin shows to attract a trendy crowd to the hip venue since its 2009 debut.
Most recently, “Joy” presented one winter wonderland. Click to view photos from that show and its opening, which became one of the holiday season's most celebrated events.
Last year alone, we were also there when “Zenith” opened in September, “Monsters” in July, “Afterglow” in May, “Grace” in March, and “Pop Stars and Cokeheads” last January.
“Earth” remains on display through Wednesday, April 6.
