When there's an extravaganza to be had, it's not a big leap to assume that the gays, Madonna and Lady Gaga are involved. The three forces came together Saturday for Jungle's annual birthday bash for Her Madge-esty.
Madonna Gaga Rama packed in the crowds at the gay club as the annual event is wont to do. The gays were on board first with the Material Girl, so why shouldn't we celebrate the pop queen’s birthday every August? Mary's in East Atlanta jumped in with a pre-birthday bash on Aug. 14; Jungle wrapped it up on Saturday. (The entertainer popped out Aug. 16, 1958.)
“It has definitely become one of our Top 5 parties of the year,” Jungle owner Brad Williams told us ahead of Saturday's dance party.
“Madonna is such an icon; people from their 50s all the way down to their 20s are still all about her. She’s got so much great material, and she’s still doing it. People get ridiculously into it," he said.
Williams added Lady Gaga to this year's event on the suggestion of DJ Ed Bailey, who's added her to Madonna birthday bashes in other cities to great success.
“He has noticed that adding Gaga increases the already huge attendance another 40 to 50 percent by bringing in a new energy and appealing even more to the younger people," Williams says.
