Jockettes flock to Atlanta Dream tryouts

Some 130 women thought they had game, enough so to make their shot at the Atlanta Dream’s roster.

The WNBA team, just days away from opening training camp, held open tryouts on Tuesday. They faced no shortage of people hoping to snag a spot on the team. Karen Park, a senior editor at the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, took part in the tryouts and wrote an amusing first-person account for the paper:

I had no delusions of making the team, after all, I’m a senior editor at the AJC, but I was there to write a first-person account.

My impression? The game at this level is not for the faint of heart. I’m so sore, and I’ve got more bruises than an old banana.
