The beneficiaries of a newly competitive Thursday nightlife scene? Clearly, the gay boys.
A few hundred filtered through the Living Room at the W Midtown on Thursday, getting their first taste of a new weekly offering from the organizers of the successful Social Tuesdays. The event — Hydrate Thursdays — joined an evening that since October has already been hosting the Thursday Night Cocktail just a short walk away at Trois.
Those who stopped by could take advantage of the lengthy bar inside the Living Room or enjoy the moderate weather on the adjoining patio that overlooks 14th Street just south of Peachtree Street.
The upscale interior, part of the hotel’s revamping that took place before it opened under the W flag last May, fit the crowd of mostly gay men in their 20s and 30s well.
