The caretakers of hot jogger magnet Piedmont Park know that all those shirtless guys, jockular drag queens, gay runners and sexy volleyballers need to eat after burning off the calories. Maybe even a cocktail. So they're doing something about it.
From the Atlanta Business Chronicle:
The building that sits along Piedmont Avenue, near the intersection of 12th Street, today houses Willy’s Mexicana Grill and the former ParQ pizzeria.
The ParQ space would expand from about 900 square feet to more than 1,500 square feet.
A third restaurant, which would be about 700 square feet, would be added. It would likely house a “grab-and-go” concept, said Penelope Cheroff, president of Atlanta restaurant and retail brokerage The Cheroff Group Ltd., who is handling the leasing efforts for the conservancy.
So the recently renovated Willy's will get two new neighbors and gay foodies will get more options to chew over.
And not to be outflanked by nearby gay fave Joe's and its popular patio, the Piedmont Park Conservancy says the expanded park facility will double its patio, from about 2,000 square feet to 4,000 square feet. Joe's is fluffing its space by nearly doubling the indoor dining capacity.
Now, can the park do something about those trashy straight folks?
