Human Rights Campaign Atlanta hosted its last monthly reception on Thursday at Whiskey Park to ramp up excitement and reveal more details about its 2011 Gala Dinner next month.
After the “Our Stories” theme was announced at February’s pre-dinner reception (view photos), guests clamored for the drinks and noshes while table captains clamored for the seating chart at March’s event (view photos) to claim prime viewing spots for the 2011 program.
That full night of programming not only includes the food, fun and auction to benefit HRC, but this year includes special guests Ally For Equality Award recipient Mo’Nique and her “Precious” director Lee Daniels.
Guests on Thursday enjoyed light appetizers and a cash bar as they heard that the “Our Stories” video contest is underway and learned about some of the many dozens of donations pouring in for the legendary auction.
HRC Atlanta organizers also announced at the reception that ticket sales are booming. Nearly 1,000 people attended the 2010 event, and the group is on track to meet or beat that in 2011.
The HRC Atlanta 24th Gala Dinner & Auction takes place May 14 at the downtown Marriott Marquis. You can buy your tickets here.
