HRC scores a strike with Atlanta event

Never mind that the scoring is confusing to newcomers. Or that beer tends to make notching strikes and spares more difficult.

Frame after frame, a large crowd filled Funtime Bowl on Buford Highway Saturday to support the Human Rights Campaign. An estimated 300 people moved through the lanes during the six-hour Bowling for Equality.

imageThe afternoon was a membership drive and fundraiser for the organization, one of several community events organized by HRC’s Atlanta Steering Committee. Upcoming events include its signature Atlanta event — the HRC Dinner Gala 2009 — on May 2, Family Day in the Park June 20, a golf event at Lake Lanier Aug. 29 and the group’s Pride Brunch Nov. 1.
