What’s gay about All Hallow’s Eve? That is, besides you wearing this? Absolutely everything, that's what. Don your gay apparel (top photo), and get down all weekend at your favorite party spots.

Friday, Oct. 30

Halloween Costume Contest. Show off your look for a chance at cash prizes with your hosts Ironica Leigh and Chloe Knox @ F Bar, 9 p.m.

Diva Invasion Halloween Party. Bring your howling best and be ready for performances by Roxanne Collins, Tatiana Mala Nina, XaPariis Charming, Colgate Smilez and Dessie Love Blake @ Guava Lamp, 9 p.m.

Monster Mash. You’re your costume and win prizes with DJ CD @ Bayou City Bar, 9 p.m.

Stripper Circus. The weekly theme night hits hard with hot men, performers and surprises @ South Beach, 9 p.m. 

Ripcord Rewind. Bears, Cubs, Daddy, Chaser, Twink, Leather, Levis and Masculine Men. Do it up to the mix-tape music of the 1980s @ Ripcord, 9 p.m.

Flex Friday. The hot guys and drag you love @ F Bar, 8 p.m. Get there early for Belevedere Happy Hour, 5 p.m.

Latin Ladies Night with DJ Kittie. Get with Houston’s lesbian crowd (and their guy friends) up in the Heights @ Pearl Bar, 10 p.m.

Viernes Noche Latina offers up two-steppin’ and line-dancin’ in the legendary Esquire Ballroom @ Neon Boots, 9 p.m.

Bright Lights Friday Nights. DJ beats and shower boys get you all wet to kick off your weekend @ Meteor, 9 p.m.

Fantasy Friday. Tanya Hyde leads the drag cast @ TC’s Showbar, 11 p.m.

Fetish Friday. If it turns your crank, they’re doing it @ Eagle Houston, 4 p.m. – 2 a.m.

Boys and Men. You know you love it @ JR’s and Mining Company’s Cockfight.

Dance Your Booty Off and get moving on the floor @ Blur, 10 p.m.

Beats, beers and boys puts the party in your pocket and the gay in your Friday @ Bayou City Bar & Grill, all day.


Saturday, Oct. 31

Heroes Booze & Boots (middle photo). The place where your gay boots meet the beat plays the part of your hero for Halloween with a Superhero costume contest @ Neon Boots, 9 p.m. They always do it up right (middle photo).

Houston Hurricanes. The teams of the gay flag football league face off in seven matchups in their weekly fall ball season @ Houston Sportsplex, 9 a.m. Hang with them later during the league’s Halloween Costume Social @ JR’s, 7 p.m.

High Heel Drag Race Halloween Block Party. The decades-old tradition continues. Wear your costume to Pacific Street for the annual street party and join the races @ Pacific Street outside, 9 p.m. If you’re over 21, the adjoining bars are on Full Halloween Tilt.

Zombies Attack brings all the ghouls out to the @ Minining Company, 9 p.m.

Heroes vs. Villains Halloween Party invites the best and worst in you to show its alter ego @ JR’s, 9 p.m.

Freak Show. DJ Drew G flies in from San Diego with his Dirty Pop to pop you into Halloween craziness on the dance floor @ South Beach, 9 p.m.

Halloween Costume Contest. Show off your look for a chance at cash prizes with your hosts Ironica Leigh and Chloe Knox @ F Bar, 9 p.m.

Trick or Treat Party. The music and the guys, and this week the costumes, are pumping @ Ripcord, 9 p.m.

Carnival Saturday: Halloween Edition. The Shower Boys leave a wet spot on your weekend with a circus theme and DJ beats to move your feets @ Meteor, 9 p.m.

Divas & Deadly Sinners. Fierce music and creepy drink specials with a costume contest to benefit homeless gay kids @ Guava Lamp, 9 p.m.

DJ John LePage Costume Bash Block Party. Take it outside with this San Francisco treat and all the costume partiers he draws. Street closure for the festivities @ Eagle Houston, 9 p.m.

Halloween Ladies Night. Come win some of the $250 in this costume contest cash @ Pearl Bar, 9 p.m.

Halloween Dance Party. DJ Lorenzo spins puts your Halloween to a Top 40 and Hip Hop beat @ Blur, 9 p.m.

Shake Up Saturday. The party bar to end all party bars is on the scene with karaoke and more. You never know what you’re gonna get @ Crocker Bar, 9 p.m.

Party time. Excellent. Slip into something that will warm your gay heart @ Bayou City Bar & Grill, all day.

Drag divas never really end when it’s cheap drinks and Showgurlz @ TC’s Showbar, 11 p.m.


Sunday, Nov. 1

Lady Bunny Sunday Funday (bottom photo). The usual afternoon mayhem gets cranked up a notch with the legendary big-haired drag queen as your host @ JR’s, 6 p.m.

Montrose Softball League. The gay pitchers and catchers of the LGBT and allied league take the the fields @ Houston Sportsplex, 9 a.m.

Dia de los Muertos. It’s Day of the Dead, so that means a special theme show with your drag divas @ F Bar, 9 p.m. Come early for Sunday Funday Happy Hour.

Sunday Showtunes puts a rough-and-ready, leather-Levis spin on your usual gay musicals fascination @ Ripcord, 3 p.m.

Dangerous Disco. Thumping beats and high spirits, and you know some Texans football. Because JJ.Don’t stop ‘til you get enough @ Eagle Houston, 12 noon – 2 a.m.

Legends does fierce, fabulous fun with Dina Jacobs, Billie Jean, Tasha Kohl, Lawanda Jackson, and Tisch DeWilliams @ Meteor, 9 p.m.

Sunday Showtunes puts a rough-and-ready, leather-Levis spin on your usual gay musical fascination @ Ripcord, 3 p.m.

Sunday Lounge. Kick back and do the Sunday do: As little as possible and look good doing it @ Guava Lamp, 10 p.m. Lounge doors for day drinking at 4 p.m.

Sunday Fun Day. Whether you go for the karaoke, the rowdy patrons or what some call the best Sunday in town, get down @ Crocker Bar, 12:30 p.m.

Sunday Funday Crawfish parties until you absolutely have to go home and start your workweek. Crawfish and drink specials @ Bayou City Bar & Grill, 12 noon – 9 p.m.

Sunday Fun Day Drag Show with Kofi and the girls and all of Houston’s ready-to-party gay boys @ JR’s. All day bar, evening drag.

All Star Sunday. Alexis Nicole Whitney corrals the queens and closes out your weekend with a showstopper that you have to see to believe @ TC’s Showbar, 11 p.m.

Hot Mess Sunday with Deejay Pollo and Ricky Lee and Houston’s hottest Spanish-English video remix set @ Blur, 10:30 p.m.

Men At Work with trash disco by DJ Danny G and drink specials @ Mining Company, all day.
