Drag royalty Sharon Needles – she who wears the crown from Season 4 of "RuPaul's Drag Race" – descended on gay Houston on Saturday to delight fans and even pay tribute to David Bowie.
Needles took over South Beach as the club continues to be the spot for touring queens from the Logo show. Before her meet-and-greet, Needles covered "Space Oddity" during her performance to pay tribute to Bowie, the rocker who died in January.
Needles' stop in Houston was the first in her very packed schedule.
Before the show, South Beach hosted the Miss LSVA pageant from the Lone Star Volleyball Association.
The "Drag Race" fun continues on Saturday as South Beach hosts the Heathers, including Season 3 winner Raja, Manila Luzon and Delta Work. On March 19, Season 7's Pearl appears. Other upcoming queens are Latrice Royale (March 26), Acid Betty (April 2), Thorgy Thor (April 9), Naomi Smalls (April 16), Derrick Berry (April 30) and Bianca Del Rio (June 24).
