Pride and protesters go hand-in-hand, but this video shows that Houston Pride-goers had the perfect response: Poise, shade and an occasional “bullshit.”
The right-wing ranters were fenced in at the corner of Montrose and Westheimer, giving them clear access to thousands of Pride participants walking to the festival and parade on June 28. Most weren't bothered, some tried to engage and others just waved them off.
The video divas at Honking Goose Videos captured it all and set it to music. Their mix puts the Eurythmics' “Sweet Dreams Are Made Of This” with the megaphone antics of the protesters for a classic spin on the ridiculouness of it all.
How ridiculous?
One protester with an audience offered his take on gay love:
“You think love is an orgasm and a one-night-stand and a French kiss and a hug,” he yells. “That is your definition of love. Sinner, what you call love and what God calls love are two totally different things.”
It took fewer words for the Pride-goers gathered around him to respond: “Bullshit.”
Exactly.
