Houston City Hall is bathed in colorific Pride glory this week ahead of the city's LGBT celebration, drawing cheers from the gays ready to celebrate their true colors.
It's a stunning sight that Houston Pride officials unveiled on Facebook late Monday to the delight of supporters. The post has received more than 2,200 likes and 400 shares.
Tonight City Hall is showered in rainbow lighting in honor of Houston Pride Week®. Thanks to the folks at My Gay Houston and Office of Special Events for making this a possibility. Next year… A Rainbow Flag flying at City Hall?
The move comes just days after Mayor Annise Parker signed into law an ordinance that bans discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity, along with other federally-protected categories. And a City Hall displaying Pride colors comes in the buildup to the Pride celebration and parade this weekend.
