Rain dampened the Hotlanta Softball League’s schedule on Sunday, but the summer season that opened March 28 is in full swing with a few dozen teams hitting the fields in southwest Fulton.
The league, celebrating its 30th season, offers men’s and women’s teams that play across several divisions in the hopes that they will snag berths to national championship tournaments later this year after the regular season ends in July.
Men’s teams compete in the Gay Softball World Series, this year set for Aug. 16-21 in Columbus, Ohio. Women’s teams will play in the Softball World Series, which is scheduled for Nov 2-6 in Las Vegas.
HSL teams resume play on Sunday at the West Metro Softball Complex on Campbellton Road in southwest Fulton County. The league’s Titans host the after party at Cowtippers beginning at 5 p.m.
The league hosts the Big Peach Softball Tournament July 3-4.
