Fancy dress, food, dancing with DJ Vicki Powell, and a piano lounge made the first Atlanta Holiday Ball on Friday a success, raising the roof while raising money for two non-profits.
Atlanta Lesbian Health Initiative and Circle of Sisters reaped the proceeds, and guests enjoyed goodie bags, a prize raffle and more than enough holiday spirit.
Atlanta Women’s Business Network and Atlanta Executive Network wanted to bring back the glamour and giving of the now-defunct local women’s event called Good Friends For Good Causes—but to expand it for all of LGBT Atlanta and its allies.
So the ball for all was born. Men and women mixed and danced the night away at the event, which took place in the high-end surrounds of Druid Hills Country Club.
“We didn’t want to have a lot of speeches or anything stuffy,” Julie Short, co-chair of this year’s event told us before the big evening. “Let’s just get dressed up and have a really good time.”
By the looks of our photo gallery, that’s exactly what happened.
