What’s a New Year’s Eve if you can’t party into the new year? Atlanta’s gay nightlife scene figured just that, offering two options last weekend that kept revelers partying until the sun came up. Seriously.
After New Year’s Eve celebrations that packed the gay partying palaces of Jungle and Heretic and East Atlanta’s Mary’s [click each for pics] – among several others – what’s a party boy to do? Two promoters had the answer.
First, the crowds shifted to Chris Coleman’s Overhaul with DJ Martin Fry at Spring 4th Center. Start time? 3 a.m. on Saturday.
For the die-hards, even that wasn’t enough. So a few hours later, they moved their continuing New Year’s dancing to the Heretic, which hosted the Carioca Productions Morning Party (photos). Start time? 6 a.m.
Long after most Cheshire Bridge locales had shuttered for the night, DJ Alex Cohen keep the beats pumping for a packed dance floor before a long night of New Year’s partying finally closed about noon on Saturday.
