As has become tradition, women of every stripe bought a ticket to Heaven to kick off Pride. The annual Heaven Party on Oct. 8 at Park Tavern brought the party to the ladies and the ladies to the party.
Way before she owned Midtown’s lesbian lounge Bellissima, Anna Ragghianti started giving women a little piece of heaven each year on Pride Friday. Ever since, the angels fall from the sky and come out of the woodwork to pack the event.
As one of the most popular Pride-time women’s events each year, the Heaven Party and its trademark angel go-go dancers “called all angels” again for the 2010 bash, and they answered whether their wings and halos were pure white, devilish black or slightly tarnished.
The event even saw some men and a few drag queens bumping with the women on the dance floor as the bar spirits flowed and the girl spirits were lifted to the heavens with a diverse block of entertainment.
This year’s lineup included not only the event’s trademark angel go-go girls, but the beats of DJ Vicki Powell, DJ Duck and other beat mistresses, as well as fire-eaters and equally hot women dancing all night long.
