Great Nationwide Kiss-In includes ATL event

imageThere’s a rally afoot, fellow gays. Get ready to, um, kiss for our rights.

Yes, the internet is abuzz with yet another grassroots movement. First, it was an effort to protest the California Supreme Court’s decision in the Proposition 8 case earlier this year. Now, the cyber activists are planning an Aug. 15 kiss-in to respond to the July 9 arrest of a gay couple after locking lips near Salt Lake City’s Mormon church temple.

Though the Great Nationwide Kiss-In is being organized by a pair of bloggers in New York and Boston, events are planned for scores of cities including Atlanta. (There’s also a website with details and tips for planning an event.) The local protest is being put together by high school student Alex Oxford, though no details are offered yet on the event’s Facebook page.
