Georgia pastor says gays ‘deserve not to live’

A Leviticus-quoting pastor in middle Georgia is calling for gay people to be put to death and posting anti-gay verses on a sign outside his church.

Pastor Robert Lee of Ten Commandments Church in Milledgeville, about 90 miles southeast of Atlanta, paraphrased Leviticus 20:13 down to this – “Homosexuality Is A Death Worthy Crime” – and plastered it on a sign outside the small church.

At least he didn't call people “fags” like that convenience store owner in LaGrange.

But Lee can't be shamed. When WGXA reported the sign's existence on Wednesday, Lee dug in. Deep.

“Homosexuality is an abomination and the Bible says homosexuality is a death worthy crime,” Lee told WGXA. Watch a supercut of his offensive, anti-gay rhetoric above.

Lee posted the sign as a response to the U.S. Supreme Court on Tuesday hearing arguments in gay marriage cases from Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio and Tennessee. It's easy to guess that Lee falls somewhere to the right of even Justice Antonin Scalia.

“Before I accept homosexuality, I will die,” Lee said.

At least Lee doesn't mince words, or try a bait and switch like this Villa Rica church and its roadside billboard. But why can't Lee's church be more accepting like this Atlanta one. Or serve cocktails and kitsch.
