Gay Atlanta scares up a hella lotta Halloween

imageThe LGBT-ATL loves its Halloween. For proof, dip into our brewing cauldron of local LGBT events while you’re final-fitting your “Pan Am” stewardess, half-naked statue, shirtless Viking, or Dr. Who costume.

And if you are still finalizing, you better hurry (while keeping in mind what not to wear). Halloween is so hallowed that we already rocked this year’s Carnevale (photos, view more) for Jerusalem House last weekend.

Many revelers also kept it gay at the Little Five Points Halloween Fest & Parade and plan to again as early as Wednesday.

imageMore than 30 Hallow’s Eve-themed events already on Project Q’s Friday-through-Monday Gay Agenda calendar include the words “Halloween” and/or “costume,” and several of them aren’t even nightlife oriented.

If you want to check out “Sweeney Todd” performances all weekend at Fabrefaction Theatre Company; a kid-friendly Halloween party with MEGA Family Project on Saturday; an Existentist Coffeehouse Costume Contest on Saturday, or even a Doggie Costume Pageant Brunch for PALS on Sunday, just click the links.

imageBut let’s focus on the parties. Of the slew of LGBT spooktaculars this year, all of them encourage costumes, most of them include contests, and many offer big cash and prizes.

We’ve chosen a selection of the biggest bashes to list below. Click your preferred hotspot or party promoter to find out more. And yes, there are more. Chances are your regular hangout is decorating and celebrating this weekend, and we’ll add others to our Gay Agenda as plans solidify.
