Softball jocks play for Gay World Series bids

Add this share

It was the last chance to represent Houston at the Gay Softball World Series, and the remaining Montrose Softball League teams took to Houston Sportsplex to see who had the right stuff.

Bracket play in both the C and D divisions pitted the contenders against each other in an all-day showdown for the third and final bids in their respective divisions. In C-division play, it came down to the Divers and the Knights, and the Divers won the bid. Wearing identical uniforms, their Divers-D brethren won the D-division bid over Cheetahs D.

As our photos below attest, it was a hard-fought, hard-played day. After a host bar celebration at Guava Lamp, all that’s left now is the trip to Columbus, Ohio, for the Aug. 17-22 Gay Softball World Series. Houston teams competing at the national tournament are as follows:

D Division

Sons of Pitches

C Division

B Division

Bomb Squad

A Division

The Force
