Gay Santa steppers freak out smalltown Alabama

On Dasher, on Dancer, on Prancing Elite! The gay male steppers who made a sassy splash in a viral cheerleading video apparently were still unheard of by Christmas Parade-goers in Semmes, Ala. And their reactions are written all over their faces.

The Prancing Elite have been known in their native Mobile for a while. By all accounts, the smaller town of Semmes does have internet connectivity, but residents and their kids must have missed the video that made the Elite a national sensation.

But townies did not miss the crew’s brave weekend parade performance. Color some spectators appalled when a J-Sette crew of synchronized black gay men shaking their asses in skimpy, drag-inspired Santa costumes did their thing through the formerly wholesome streets of Semmes (video above). Deep in "Duck Dynasty" territory, not even Mariah's "All I Want For Christmas" could get them on board.

The twirling guys and their aghast detractors even made the local Alabama news. We enjoyed watching the classic reactions from both sides–and the continuing Christmas kerfuffle–so much, we simply had to revisit the video that started it all (below).
