Gay-owned Radial Cafe now serving reality TV

Has Honey Boo Boo or Atlanta's "Real Housewives" invaded gay-owned Radial Cafe? The POTUS-approved, pork pulling with the gov restaurant is dishing up its tasty eats to the cast of "a popular television reality show" this week, forcing it to close for two days.

The Bestest Brunch spot announced early Tuesday that Hollywood was knocking on its door.

HOLLYWOOD Comes to Radial Cafe

We will be closed Tuesday, August 6 and Wednesday, August 7 for filming of a popular television reality show.

We are sorry for any inconvenience and hope to see you again when we open for regular hours on Thursday, August 8.

But who could it be? We reached out to owner Frank Bragg for more information and will update if we hear back.

Atlanta, of course, is a favorite for reality television producers. There's the Bravo hit "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" and it never shies away from the gay (or Blake's). Next month, Bravo debuts its latest twist with "The New Atlanta." TLC shoots versions of "Say Yes to the Dress" in Atlanta, though those stay inside the bridal shops.

It could be VH1's "Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta" or even TLC's "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo." We could totally see Uncle Poodle chowing down on some Radial grub while he cruises Grindr.

But sources close to the restaurant point us to another VH1 show -- "Single Ladies." And the timing works. That show wrapped in August and the network promises a third season debuting later this year, so it makes sense that they would be shooting new scenes now.

The reality show chronicles the lives of three friends -- Raquel, Keisha and April -- and there are gay connections. Queen Latifah, whose Flavor Unit Entertainment produces the show, plays the recurring character of Sharon Love. Sexy gay actor Wilson Cruz appeared as Vincent in Season 1. Sexy straight actor Travis Winfrey plays Omar Kearse, considered among the main cast of the show. He's the gay friend to the women but his abs deserve their own show.

Whatever the show, it picked well. This popular eatery passes its health inspections, unlike this gay popular place. Or that other one. Roaches!

UPDATE | Radial confirmed in an Aug. 8 email to fans that it was VH1 that took over the restaurant. "By the time you receive this newsletter, we will have already completed two days of filming at Radial Cafe for the VH1 Production, SINGLE LADIES, starring Queen Latifah. This is the second film shoot at Radial Cafe this year and we may have one more before the year is out."
