Even if the weather wasn’t saying “winter” yet, the seasonal spirit came alive on Friday and Saturday as Atlanta Gay Men’s Chorus performed its 32nd annual holiday concert, “And on Earth, Peace.”
The Cathedral of St. Philip again provided the perfect backdrop as the chorus did traditional but mixed things up to keep their presentation fresh. This year, that meant solos and member highlights, guest vocalist Megan Mashburn and special arrangements of selections from familiar holiday tunes to gospel to the David Bowie-Bing Crosby inspired “Little Drummer Boy/Peace on Earth” duet and more.
For many a gay Atlantan who makes the concert an annual tradition, AGMC performances on Friday and Saturday nights plus one on Saturday afternoon mean that the holidays in gay Atlanta can officially begin.
