Focus the high-energy style of the 100-voice Atlanta Gay Men’s Chorus on any musical score and the results will perk up your ears — even when it’s from the already impressive Lennon-McCartney songbook.

The music of the Beatles inspired the latest AGMC concert, which included a July 9 performance at the Rialto Center for the Arts.

imageThe show also featured ’60s-style costumes and a number of pertinent sound bytes from the era, including that of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and President John F. Kennedy.

The concert came on the heels of a well-received “Georgia On Our Minds” tour across the state that culminated in Atlanta with a performance honoring Cochran, Ga., prom pioneer Derrick Martin.
