Gay Games tour stops in Atlanta tonight

If you ever wanted to get drunk with a bunch of gay jocks, tonight is your night. Organizers of Gay Games VIII are in Atlanta today to promote the 2010 event and recruit. You know how the gays love to recruit.

With 34 sports and five cultural events, there’s bound to be something of interest in the celebration of gay athleticism, which kicks off next July. The eight-day event expects more than 10,000 participants, so you can probably medal in jock-watching, too.

Local jocks from the Atlanta Gay Sports Alliance — some of the same ones you saw marching about in Speedos during Sunday’s Pride parade (photo) — are hosting tonight’s mixer at Mixx. It’s one of 20 North American stops for the Gay Games crew. Annette Wachter, CEO of Games Cologne, and Stephan Collet, a member of Games Cologne’s organizing committee, will be on hand to pitch the event and offer a discount if you register tonight.
