The green was as ever-present as the bottomless margaritas on Saturday. For a bunch of gay football jocks throwing a party, isn’t that about right for an afternoon doing double duty as St. Patrick’s Day and the first blast of Spring?

So the National Flag Football League of Atlanta, after hosting opening day action on the gridiron, turned to its annual margarita bust (view photos from 2011) at Zocalo. A bit of Irish luck meant that the event also fell on St. Patrick’s Day, when everyone wearing even a bit of green translates in Irish to mean “drink like hell.”

And that they did, filing the expanded deck of the Mexican taqueria with a few hundred margarita-hungry, Irish for a day party-goers.
