The thrills and spills of rides and attractions drew every shade of Atlanta’s LGBT rainbow to Six Flags Over Georgia on Saturday for fun in the sun followed by a well-earned picnic in the pavilion.
The creative minds at Unity Entertainment put their heads together to put a little Pride in the theme park and spread a little summer joy to hundreds of friends and families, couples and singles, young and old folks alike.
A baking summer sun, breathtaking rides, and walking around a particularly colorful park was exhausting but worth it. A full day built the community spirit and a powerful hunger in the sunburned masses.
Luckily, the organizers anticipated as much. A group discount not only cut the regular price of admission but also afforded all comers a respite in the shade of the park’s Peachtree Pavillion for an all-they-could-eat picnic buffet in the evening. The full picnic spread came with DJ beats, a stage program and vendors for a festival-type atmosphere that put a perfect close on the day.
