Gay beards, gay twirls as Atlanta ‘Housewives’ do Mexico

Bling shopper and bonnet queen Miss Lawrence served as the gay beard – figuratively – for Kenya Moore as “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” traveled to Mexico, where the ladies accused Porsha Stewart of being a beard – literally – for her gay-rumored ex.

Gay beards and twirls played large in Sunday's episode, providing a respite from the season's on-again, off-again fixation on gay baiting. Gay stylist Miss Lawrence took center stage as Kenya's plus one muse as they arrived in Mexico to check out their resort and cruise some tank topped hotties. (“I couldn't take his face!”)

But even Miss Lawrence's bearded mariachi merriment couldn't distract the ladies long enough. During a dinner, Kenya pounced on Porsha and accused her of playing beard to ex-husband Kordell Stewart. Porsha has taken the bait before, but this time didn't delve into gay stereotypes and homophobic musings to explain away those pesky gay rumors swirling around Kordell.

She was having no part of any of that “mud swinging.” Yes, honey. “Mud swinging.”
