Gay Atlanta gives Backpack in the Park makeover

Gone were the carnival games. They said so long to Piedmont Park. But changing things up for the gay-founded, gay-led organizers For The Kid in All of Us meant saying hello to Backpack in the Park: Garden Party.

Sunday’s event still collected school-supply backpacks for kids in need and still featured the gay giving spirit, munchies and drinks that typify the annual summer signature of the group that also brings you Toy Party in December. Fancier and all grown up this year, guests enjoyed live music by Unknown Lyric and the swanky cabana spread at Cator Woolford Gardens.

And what would a gay Sunday Funday in Atlanta be without even more cocktails? The Backpack gays with a little party left in them eased on down the road to meet back up at Ten for the Backpack in the Park Afterparty.
