Gay Atlanta finds its holiday cheer with Toy Party

The holigays couldn't get more merry than on Saturday when gay Atlanta dressed in its holiday best and descended on the 13th Annual Toy Party & Silent Auction to cocktail for a cause.

The big gay charity event moved from its traditional Sunday evening to Saturday, expanded to five hours and unfolded across two floors of Americas Mart 3 in downtown Atlanta. DJ Sed returned, along with scores of volunteers, a silent auction, a VIP lounge and plenty of cocktails and tasty treats. The cast of the Other Show hosted the VIP experience and treated the crowd to a performance.

Toy Party originated in 2003 with a group of gay friends that later turned into For The Kid In All Of Us, the non-profit that now operates the event. Before Saturday's party, the event had donated more than 45,000 toys and gift cards, and nearly $500,000 to charities.

The toys, gifts and cash will be distributed to 18 non-profit agencies that serve children in need across Georgia, including AADD, AID Atlanta, Atlanta's Children Shelter, Childkind, CHRIS Kids, Cool Girls, Cords of Life, Decatur Housing Authority, Devereux of Georgia, Easter Seals of North Georgia, East Lake Foundation, Fulton County Juvenile Court, Hillside, Jerusalem House, Lutheran Services of Georgia, Malachi's Storehouse, Our House, and Safe Path.

The party continued, and the cocktails kept flowing, with the Toy Party afterparty at Ten.

We haven't celebrated quite as many holiday seasons as Toy Party. But we've been there for a bunch, so enjoy these photos from 2014, 2013, 2012, 2011, 2010, 2009 and 2008.
