Gay Atlanta designer seeks pop princess runway redemption

After a heart-pounding elimination and a skin-of-his-teeth save, Atlanta’s favorite gay designer looks to get his groove back this week on “Under the Gunn.” Watch Nicholas Komor’s attempts to recover.

Last week’s save was so dramatic, Tim Gunn’s “Project Runway” spinoff revisits it during Komor’s mentoring session on Thursday's show. As he begins his look for pop singer Zendaya to wear in concert, he goes for leather shorts.

We’re feeling it. So are Gunn and mentor Anya Ayoung-Chee, but they want him to punch it up. As usual, Komor knows what he wants and sticks to it down to the last styling detail. We think the results are a clear signal that he was worth saving last week. This is the look our inner pop princess would wear on stage.

The judges? Nonplused. Watch Komor’s every moment from the episode in the video above. And barring natural disaster – aka what Atlanta calls snow days – make plans for the big gay weekly watch partty every Thursday with our local boy as host at Mary’s.
