OUTLANTACON: The gay gaming and sci-fi geekvent opens its weekend convention. On tap for OutlantaCon is an aggressive and full schedule of panels, gaming, film screenings and yes, a masquerade ball so you can dress up. Registration opens at 4 p.m. at the Holiday Inn on Clearview Avenue.
MEMORIAL: Friends and colleagues will gather today to remember Phillip Rush, a longtime gay activist who died suddenly early Tuesday. The event is set for 6 p.m. at Frogs Cantina on Monroe Drive in Midtown.

TRILOGY: Author M.W. Moore (photo) stops at Outwrite Bookstore & Coffeehouse to read from and discuss his latest work, “An About Face.” The book is the final piece in Moore’s trilogy based on his turbulent life from youth to adulthood. 7:30 p.m.
SPIKE IT: The Hotlanta Volleyball Association continues its Summer Open Play tonight at Agnes Scott College in Decatur. Open play includes members and non-members playing in random teams. It’s a way to learn more about the gay volleyball league without committing to a full membership. 7:30 p.m.
DINNER BINGO: Organizers behind MondoHomo, the queer art and cultural festival set for May 21-25, are gathering some LGBT mentors and elders to provide some storytelling and gossip during a spaghetti dinner and bingo event tonight hosted by drag personality Diamond ‘Lil. Ria’s Bluebird on Memorial Drive at 8 p.m.
