Fresh queens toss Burkhart’s Sunday salad

Comedy and camp on a Sunday is nothing new in gay Atlanta, but forget what you thought you knew. With a new weekly timeslot for the Tossed Salad drag show, Burkhart’s has a brand new bag.

Led by Brigitte Bidet (photo, right), Tossed Salad brings gurlz you may recognize from the East Atlanta Glitz and Gurlfrandz shows and Edgewood’s baddest bitch pageants to Midtown. For the kickoff on Sunday, the left-of center beauties included Ellasaurus Rex, Lavonia Elberton, Mo’Dest Volgare and Cayenne Rouge. New Ru Girl Violet Chachki (left) served as the show’s first special guest star. They’re all part of Atlanta drag’s new guard.

Also coming north over I-20 from EAV, the Tossed Salad dance party with DJ Ree de la Vega takes place amidst the show. Several other queens were there to show their support out of drag, including Nicole Paige Brooks, Edie Cheezburger and Kryean Kally.
