Spring Training for two of Atlanta’s gay sports leagues is set for this weekend. And thankfully, it all unfolds in Piedmont Park.

imageOn Saturday, the National Flag Football League of Atlanta kicks off its season with a meet and greet for players and prospective recruits. The league has 74 players heading into its season, which opens play with preseason games on March 28, and hopes to reach at least 96. So join the league from 10 a.m. to noon at the athletic fields in the Oval.

On Sunday, the Hotlanta Softball League offers its annual clinic for new players. The league begins play on March 22. But before that, the Venom and Mudcats will work with new recruits on the fundamentals through a series of drills and exercises. Bring your glove, field shoes of some sort and join them in the Oval from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. After the clinic, participants will regroup at nearby Frogs Cantina.
