After celebrating the end of the NFL season, the jocks of the National Flag Football League of Atlanta are now plotting their return to the field and warmed up on Saturday in the first of two pre-season drills.
The two-hour Meet ‘N Greet Orientation in Grant Park gave new recruits the chance to learn about the sport and organizers of the gay league an opportunity to rank players and place them on teams. The league settles on its teams on Thursday during an event at Blake’s when it unveils rosters for the upcoming season, which opens March 12.
The league was among several gay sports groups to go recruiting during an event at Frogs Cantina last September. They closed their season last July with the Broncos taking the championship and then – of course – a beer bust at Blake’s.
