It’s hard to keep up with all the LGBT news, water-cooler hot topics and happenings in a vibrant gay Atlanta. That’s OK. Here are the most popular posts of the last seven days to keep you up to speed.

Activists confront Sharon Needles in Atlanta

What was intended as a sit-down meeting called by “RuPaul’s Drag Race” winner Sharon Needles to dialogue with LGBT Atlanta detractors of racial imagery in her act and her use of the word “nigger” got heated at Jungle Wednesday as the club prepared for a Needles appearance and coinciding protest. Read the full confrontation post, then check out Needles firing back at ‘haters’ from the stage (video) as well as her controversial performance to a sold-out crowd (photos and video).

Popular Atlanta drag queen murdered in robbery

A popular Latin drag queen was shot and killed in her Dunwoody apartment on June 22, the apparent victim of a botched robbery by a 20-year-old man who preyed on sex workers advertising their services online. Roberto Calderon-Guzman, a 28-year-old drag performer known as Noxy Cassandra at gay nightspots including Club Rush, was found dead Friday. The suspect used a previous victim’s cell phone to set up his meeting with Noxy. Read the full post.

Anti-gay Ga. counseling martyr loses case

In a scathing rebuke, a federal court last week shot down the case of Jennifer Keeton, dismissing the graduate student’s lawsuit over being sanctioned out of Augusta State University’s graduate counseling program for refusing to treat LGBT clients if she couldn’t counsel them as “morally wrong.” Read the full post.

Not just for big guns: Rock the gay tank top
