Finding a white Christmas on the slopes

Another Christmas has nearly come and gone in Atlanta, this time leaving behind temperatures in the 50s and rain. It seems like the city has seen more rain in the days leading up to the holiday than it did all summer. Funny how that drought thing works.

winter_rendezvous.jpgBut if you’re itching for an escape, longing for some of that flaky white stuff, needing something to leave behind the memories of family time from the holidays, there is an answer. More than a dozen, in fact.

The gay ski circuit opens in less than two weeks on the slopes of Arosa, Switzerland. It’s followed by more than a dozen events, mostly in North America, that will keep gay snow bunnies busy until August.

A recent article I wrote for, a great resource for gay sports news and commentary, talks to organizers of some of the events and experts who give tips on how to select one (or more) that’s right for you. The piece also provides a list of dates and web sites for all of the events and takes a deeper look than my recent Southern Voice sports column on the same topic. Read the full story.
