Four singers. Two songs each. A shot at a featured performance at Houston Pride and studio time. That's the setting for Thursday's Season 8 finale of Pride Superstar. Let the judging begin.
Some 12 competitors were winnowed to four during a weeks-long competition that started in May. Now, finalists Laz Estrada (bottom right), Joshua Green (top right), Daniel Rosales (top left) and Kristof Shane (bottom left) will sing for their lives. Twice. The Houston Chronicle offers a rundown of what to expect for the Pride Superstar Finale on Thursday:
The final four singers, narrowed from 12 during eight weeks of competition, come armed with everything from show tunes to power ballads, opera to hip-hop. The competition combines judges' scores with audience applause to determine who survives and who gets the weekly cut.
This week's finale challenges the finalists with two songs each. The winner, who will be decided solely by judges' scores, gets an entry in Saturday's Houston LGBT Pride Parade, studio time at the legendary SugarHill Recording Studios and a professional website. All four will perform during the Pride Festival.
