It’s a refreshing change that the steady stream of news from Flowery Branch recently is positive. No dogs. No indictments. No failed coaches fleeing in the middle of the night.

The news today also provides a new excuse to gaze adoringly at Matt Ryan, the NFL’s No. 3 draft pick and the Atlanta Falcons newest QB. The team came to terms with Ryan, announcing a six-year, $72 million deal.

Once details of the contract surfaced publicly, ESPN labeled Ryan the “official face of the Atlanta Falcons.”

No word yet on the fate of Joey Harrington, the hunky backup QB whom the Falcons fired and then rehired to a two-year, $4 million deal.

If you’re looking for additional photos of Ryan and the rest of the NFL’s 2008 Freshmen Class, check this post from Outsports.
