Between sexy gym selfies and showing off that delicious booty in underwear modeling shots, Chattanooga guy Derek Yates likes to quip, “Flex 'til you're famous.” It worked. He's now Ellen's new gardener.
He turned a sizzling audition video into a romp as one of three finalists on Tuesday's episode of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” (watch below). She's been searching for a new gardener – and had many sexy applicants – since the other sexpot, Nick the Gardener, took a leave to shoot “Magic Mike XXL,” the sequel to the stripper flick that also nabbed this Savannah hottie.
Yates, a model and actor and singer and fitness buff, worked a catwalk on Tuesday's show. Thanks to an audience that loved him and his furry chest, he beat out LA's Teagan Rose and Marcus Kenny from Washington, D.C. That snagged him a golden hoe, a $1,000 gift card from Target, a sash and thousands of gay fans checking out his sexy modeling shots, Tumblr feed, gym selfies on Instagram and his Facebook page.
“It is honestly a dream come true to be on Ellen’s show,” he tells Nooga. “I can’t help but feel good while watching her show, and now I get to be a part of that for her audience and viewers also.”
The 30-year-old has plenty of Atlanta ties, including this sexy gay bro, modeling shoots with Atlanta photographer Ignacio Rivera, Jr., and his agent. But really, who is this guy that looks so sexy – and gets a little dirty – in underwear?
What made you want to model underwear?
Modeling underwear was kind of a on a whim. I did a shoot with Ethan James in Murfreesboro, TN, and some of the shots were done in underwear. They turned out better than I expected as far as how I thought I’d look in them, and the online community seemed to like them also. I used them for modeling contests and it seemed the public liked what they saw overall. So, I decided to continue doing underwear shoots when possible. Plus, I work hard to stay in shape as best I can, so showing off my hard work and sacrifices is only natural.
