Eagle celebrates pop, Pride with Britney Bash

Leather daddies, bears and boys in harnesses who love a pop diva converged on the Eagle to pack its Britney Bash on Saturday.

DJ Pat Scott manned the booth, pumping out the beats as the boys filled the dance floor for his take on her hits, including “Baby One More Time,” “Oops! … I Did It Again” and “Toxic.” When Scott takes over the Eagle, it's a rowdy mashup. And special guests just show up. It's little wonder that we named the event among the 12 best gay ones to do during Stonewall Month.

The evening wasn't just about the pop princess. It also served as a farewell stop for Buck Cooke, the executive director of Atlanta Pride. The non-profit leader leaves the post early next month after three years on the job. Don't worry – Pride has a new executive director and the festival goes on in October.

The event on Saturday also raised funds for Pride.
