The Atlanta Dream dropped their game against Minnesota on Tuesday by six points, with the difference coming from behind the three-point line. But here’s what’s noteworthy: Just 10 games into the season, the Dream has won four.
Put another way: The Dream has already matched the total number of wins they notched last season, their first, when they went 4-30. So as they look to Friday’s home game against Washington, team brass has got to like how the season is unfolding so far.
But back to last night’s game again Minnesota: The Lynx made half of their 26 3-point shots. The Dream shot only seven and made just two. That’s the difference.
“The guards just have to shoot the ball from the three,” Dream coach Marynell Meadors (photo) says. “They have the green light to do so and they are just not doing it. I think we also have to do a better job defending our opponent’s threes as well. We were within six points shooting two-pointers, so we just have to do a better job defending those three-pointers.”
