imageDoggies on the Catwalk strutted its stuff on Friday to benefit Pets Are Loving Support. The annual fundraiser features models and local celebrities walking canine friends down the runway while wearing fashions by Grady High School’s Urban Couture program.

Among the local notables on the runway this year were hunky Atlanta Falcons players Coy Wire and Brian Finneran (second photo). The guest professional designer showing off her wares for 2011 was Annie Griffin.

Other models showing off canine companions included Atlanta magazine’s gay culture vulture Rich Eldredge, Dennis Dean, Richelle Carey, Jenn Hobby, Michaeline Roland and Stephanie Davis Smith.

A fur-rocious silent auction also raised cash for PALS, which helps elderly and critically ill people care for their pets.

After the show at Grady High School’s auditorium, the student designers and dogs retired as the models, spectators, PALS officials, and Urban Couture’s gay organizer E. Vincent Martinez headed across the street to Park Tavern for a “Yappy Hour” after party sponsored by Piedmont Bark with cocktails and noshes.
