Does Harrington have what it takes?

Joey Harrington just can’t catch a break.

No, we’re not talking about his roller coaster ride with the Atlanta Falcons. That’s a different story altogether. But it goes something like this: You’re hired to back up Michael Vick. He gets arrested. You get to start. Coach who later quits benches you. Season crumbles. You get fired only to get rehired a week later.

But maybe the last year in Atlanta will garner the hunky Falcons quarterback some sympathy votes in the West Regional of “King of the Hardwood.” He’ll need it, as he faces Justin Wilcock, a diver with a chest that’s got to far surpass what Harrington offers. But then Joey’s got that sweet drawl that can melt even the most hardened of gay Falcons fans.

Take your pick – Harrington or Wilcock – as voting remains open through Saturday. This round also includes other hot jocks such as Andy Roddick, Michael Phelps, Cristiano Ronaldo and Fabian Hambuechen. A new round of voting opens on Monday

Speaking of local jocks, we’d be remiss if we didn’t mention that Robby Ginepri, a pro tennis player who lives in Kennesaw, beat Braves right fielder Jeff Francoeur in Southeast Regional voting. It wasn’t even close – 189 to 112.

Let’s hope Francoeur’s season, which opens on Sunday, goes better than this.
