imageCombine the DJ talents of Vicki Powell and nightlife know-how of promoter Bill Kaelin, and you need two days to fully experience the fun that results.

The gay duo came together last weekend for a special twist on Powell’s FLUX events, this time offering FLUX Deluxe that also celebrated the 40th birthday of Kaelin, a longtime fixture in Atlanta’s LGBT nightlife scene. On Saturday, Powell provided the tunes for the cocktails and fun inside the Livingston Restaurant + Bar. The next day, the event went poolside at the Georgian Terrace. (Both places sit in the same historic Midtown building.)

imageThe two-day FLUX concept debuted in early May, pitched as a stay-cation worthy of the gays. The Sunday portion encourages “skimpy swimwear and splashing.” Next up, you can also find Powell spending some time at Noni’s for her SUNsets on the Patio, which returns this Sunday.

Kaelin, who took advantage of Lady Gaga’s stops in Atlanta last December, was a partner in the gay-popular Bazzaar Lounge for more than five years until it closed in 2009.
