Did Bernice King just open her arms to the gays?

image Bernice King, the new CEO of the Martin Luther King Jr. Center that seemingly told the gays to piss off last week, may have scratched off her scab of anti-gay views on Monday. How’s that for an MLK birthday surprise? King (photo) used the occasion of the MLK March & Rally to rally around the gays. Or at least put some distance between her marching against same-sex marriage and saying her father “did not take a bullet for same-sex marriage.” Dyana Bagby, deputy editor of the GA Voice, tweeted this about King’s remarks to the rally crowd:

Bernice King says she doesn't care if ppl are Hindu, Islamist, heterosexual, homosexual, gay, lesbian. All ppl come together. Wow.
King wasn’t done yet:
Bernice King even acknowledged bisexual and transgender from stage at Atlanta MLK rally. Wow. She said hetero, homosexual and then LGBT
King’s comments shocked the group of LGBT people taking part in the march. Earlier on Monday, they were among more than 250 people who attended the annual Rustin/Lorde Breakfast at St. Mark United Methodist Church in Midtown. King was one of several grand marshals of the parade. The list also included LGBT activist Paulina Helm-Hernandez, co-director of Southerners On New Ground.
